The Turquoise Lens - Story

Where it all started…

Hey guys! I thought some of you may enjoy hearing the story of how The Turquoise Lens came to be. First you should know, I am a photographer, not a writer so please forgive me ahead of time!

It all started the summer of 2012 with my mom’s point and shoot camera. I didn’t know a thing about photography and simply enjoyed snapping pics of people while at horse shows.

It didn’t take long and in just a few months I took some money I had previously saved up, and invested in my very own DSLR. I was so excited to have my first “real” camera and quickly realized I had no idea how to even use this new tool!

I was very fortunate to have an amazing mentor help me along the way with my questions, concerns, and everything in between! I am forever thankful for those who have helped me through trial and error of this business, you know who you are!

I have moved around a lot in the last several years, whether it be from Minnesota to Arkansas, to Oklahoma where I currently reside while attending NWOSU pursuing an Ag Business degree (Agriculture being another one of my passions!)

I still enjoy taking rodeo pictures and it will always be something I am passionate about, however I have found a new love in capturing couples special moments together, in addition to capturing families laughter, and seniors last moments before entering adulthood. Styled and custom shoots are quickly becoming some of my favorites as well!

My goal when you book a session with me is to capture moments and memories and feel like you are just hanging out with the best third wheel ever, or catching up with an old friend! Whatever we may be capturing together, I want it to be magical!

Thanks for sticking with me through this long post, I hope you will consider The Turquoise Lens for you photography needs, and I hope we can chat soon!
