choosing the right

for your elopement or micro wedding

Your elopement or micro wedding is one of the most intimate, meaningful days of your life—every moment, every glance, and every emotion matters. With fewer people around, every detail is felt more deeply, and the person capturing those moments? They need to be someone you trust completely.

That’s why choosing the right photographer isn’t just about finding someone whose work you love (though that’s important, too). It’s about finding someone who feels like a friend, someone who puts you at ease, and someone you actually want by your side on such a personal day.

With elopements and micro weddings, I’m not just another vendor—I’m one of the few people who will be there for every part of your day. From the quiet moments before you say your vows to the celebration after, I’ll be capturing the laughter, the tears, the wind in your hair, and all the little in-between moments you’ll want to relive forever.

choosing the right

for your ranch wedding

There’s something undeniably special about saying "I do" with just your closest loved ones—or maybe even just the two of you. Whether you’re dreaming of exchanging vows under an open sky on your family’s ranch, at the foot of a rugged mountain, or in a quiet chapel, your day deserves to be captured with the same heart and care as a full-scale wedding.

Elopements and micro weddings are all about stripping away the stress and focusing on what truly matters: your love, your commitment, and the moments that make your story yours.

Planning Your Elopement: Ideas & Things to Consider

Eloping gives you the freedom to design a day that’s completely true to you—without the stress of a big wedding. But with all that freedom, it can be hard to know where to start! Here are some ideas and things to consider as you plan your elopement.

choose a location that feels like you

Where do you feel most at home? Maybe it’s on horseback in an open field, beneath a canopy of trees, or beside a quiet river at sunrise. Whether you want to elope on a family ranch, at the base of a mountain, or in the middle of the desert, choose a place that feels like yours

Ideas:
~ private ranch or farm
~ secluded mountaintop or canyon overlook
~ historic western chapel
~ windswept prairie at golden hour
~ cozy cabin or airbnb in the woods

best places to elope in oklahoma

Thinking of eloping in Oklahoma but dying for some killer views? Check out the list I have compiled of some of the best places to elope in Oklahoma!

Some of them may surprise you, but all of them will blow you away!

Decide Who You Want There (If Anyone!)

Eloping doesn’t have to mean running off alone—unless you want to! Some couples invite just their parents, siblings, or best friends, while others keep it truly intimate with just the two of them and their officiant. Think about what feels right for you.

Consider:

Do you want a private vow exchange before including family?

Would you like a small dinner or celebration afterward?

Do you want to include your horses, dogs, or other animals?

Personal Touches

Write private vows to read to each other

Ride off on horseback after your ceremony

Have a bonfire or picnic under the stars

Get a cake to cut, yeah even if its just the two of you!

Don’t Forget the Logistics

Even the simplest elopement requires some planning! A few things to check off your list:

Marriage License – Look up state requirements and waiting periods- you can always "get married" at your local courthouse and skip the formalities on your actual wedding day

Officiant or Witnesses – Some states require them, others don’t. I photographed a couple who got married in Colorado (a self solemnizing state) and they traveled there just the two of them + me!

Permits – Needed for certain public lands, parks, etc! I can help with this!

Backup Plan – If you’re eloping outdoors, have a plan in case of weather
