Boise Photographer

Em + Si reside near Boise, Idaho so we got to explore some beautiful countryside out at Anderson Ranch Reservoir for their 7th year wedding anniversary photos. I so enjoyed getting to be a Boise area photographer for a few days and explore all of Idaho’s beauty.

I have been photographing Emily and Silas for over 7 years now, starting way back when they first got engaged. We make it a point to take their anniversary photos whenever we get the chance.

Anderson Ranch Reservoir

We started down by the lake as the sun was still high in the sky. The frolicked, laughed together, and soaked up the warm air of early summer. You cannot beat some of the views here around the lake. As you’ll see as you continue on looking through their session, we got so many different looks just by driving around the area!

We ventured up to the top of the rolling hills with the mountains glowing in the background. My style as a photographer is to guide you through your session, creating those in the moment FEELINGS in your photos that will give you memories instead of just photographs. Think of it like a date night but with the coolest third wheel ever who also happens to have some killer skills with her camera (a.k.a. me)

We may or may not have ventured off into the sticks down a dirt road to find this next spot. It made for the perfect secluded opportunity for their pup Moose to join in on the photo action.

How I help you feel comfortable during your session

Something I hear from almost every couple before their session is “we are awkward in front of a camera” or even “we have never really had our pictures taken, so we will need help with what to do”. That is exactly what I am here for. My approach is a mixture between giving yall things to do to create those natural interactions and stepping in to give guidance, but also stepping back and just snapping away when I start to see those interactions naturally unfold. I also send out a questionnaire to every couple before their session so I can get to know YALL and your relationship. What music yall like, what you enjoy doing together, what makes you laugh. We will feel more like friends by the time I show up for your session, than just some random gal with a camera.

Before heading back to town, we had to finish their session off with the sun setting over the mountains to end off the perfect anniversary session for Emily and Silas.
