How to Elope at Wichita Wildlife Refuge

There are two locations within the refuge that you are able to reserve for your ceremony. Ceremonies are not permitted outside of the Holy City Chapel or Boulder Cabin Picnic Area, which is the location you see here. You will need a permit for either and the Picnic Area can be reserved for the entire day for $30.

Narrows Trail at Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge

Narrows Trailhead is right by the Boulder Cabin Picnic Area, making it a must see spot during your elopement at Wichita Mountains. The entire Refuge is truly full of so many hidden gem locations but also full of locations that are easy access with minimal hiking, making your elopement here totally customizable.

Wildlife at Wichita Mountains

There is a variety of wildlife that you will likely see if you choose to elope at the Refuge. Buffalo and longhorn cattle are among the crowd favorites, but it is important to keep in mind they are still wild animals. So, keep your distance and be respectful of being in their home.

Planning your Oklahoma Elopement

One of the best parts about eloping at the Wichita Mountains, or eloping in general for that matter is you get to customize your day exactly the way you want it. Bailey and Caitlin decided to end their sunrise elopement with a cake cutting and picnic by the lake. We did practice leave no trace, which is very important if we want to continue to have access to these areas.
