Colorado Elopement Photographer

Planning a wedding in just two months might sound overwhelming to some, but for Colby and Tyler, it was the perfect way to begin their forever. When you start your search a Colorado elopement photographer, keep in mind things beyond just do you love the photos they take. Of course this is important, but it is equally as important to know that they have knowledge about elopements and can help you with all the ins and outs of planning your day, especially if you are planning it in a short timeframe! They knew they didn’t want the stress of a big wedding or the pressure of traditional expectations. Instead, they wanted a day that reflected who they truly are—a couple who loves adventure, travel, and experiencing life on their own terms.

Why choose Colorado for your Elopement?
– self-solemnizing state
– stunning scenery and mountain landscapes
Colorado’s stunning landscapes, from towering peaks to golden meadows, make it one of the most incredible places for an intimate wedding. But beyond the scenery, one of the biggest reasons Colby + Tyler chose Colorado was its unique self-solemnizing marriage laws. Meaning they were able to get married, just the two of them. Plus me of course, but they didn’t need an officiant or witnesses!
In Colorado, couples can legally marry themselves—no officiant, no witnesses, no stress. This meant they could exchange vows in the most private, meaningful way possible, just the two of them, surrounded only by the beauty of the mountains.
As an elopement photographer, I often step in for so much more than just taking photos on your wedding day. I was honored to be the one to zip Tylers dress + be with them for their most special moments on their wedding day. They chose to do a mini first look inside their Airbnb as Colby helped Tyler with the finishing touches of getting ready.

An Airbnb Wedding: Getting Ready for the Big Moment
Instead of a traditional venue, Colby + Tyler opted for a cozy Airbnb tucked away in the mountains. The morning of their wedding was slow and intentional—no rushing around, no timelines to follow, just the two of them soaking in every moment.

They helped each other get ready, a quiet moment full of love and excitement. Colby slipped into her wedding dress while Tyler straightened his tie, and together, they stepped outside onto their Airbnb’s scenic deck, ready to begin their forever.

A Private Vow Exchange in the Mountains
With no guests, no distractions, and nothing but the crisp mountain air surrounding them, Colby + Tyler stood hand in hand, hearts pounding with excitement. Under the vast Colorado sky, they spoke their vows—words filled with love, promises, and a lifetime of adventure ahead.
It was simple. It was raw. It was perfect.

Cake Cutting at their Airbnb
They chose to still do a cake cutting. You can include “traditional” things like this to your wedding day, even if it’s just the two of you!

Exploring the Colorado Wilderness as Newlyweds
After sealing their vows with a kiss, they did what they love most—explored. Hiking through the rugged trails, they laughed, held hands, and let the mountain breeze carry away any lingering nerves. Stopping for their first dance on the deck overlooking the mountains. The sun dipped lower, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink, creating a golden-hour glow that made their love feel even more magical.
They embraced the moment, taking in the stillness and beauty of the mountains, knowing they had chosen exactly the right way to start their marriage.

Why Eloping Might Be the Best Choice for You
Colby + Tyler’s elopement wasn’t about skipping out on a wedding—it was about making the day completely their own. If you’re considering an elopement, here’s why it might be the perfect fit for you:

No worrying about guest lists, seating charts, or reception timelines.
